I
am an accomplished field archaeologist in rural and urban contexts, and across many chronological periods in the Old and New Worlds. This includes experience excavating in rural and urban contexts in England, Ireland, Italy, Borneo, and the United States. For the past 10+ years, I have focused on the historical archaeology of plantations, including a significant exploration of enslaved communities. This has included considerable public archaeology experience, curriculum design for archaeological programming, and one-on-one and group teaching of archaeological techniques.
As a “tech geek,” I am interested in exploring the integration of technology into archaeology projects, which in the past has included experimenting with daylight-readable tablets for site recordation, archaeological app development for supervisors and technicians, light-field cameras, photogrammetry, and 3d visualizations.
