Instructional Designer • Archaeologist • Educator • Tech Geek
That might seem like a lot, but what it boils down to is information: seeking it, finding it, analyzing it, and, ultimately, finding ways to transmit that information to others.
In instructional design, particularly for e-learning, I prefer scenario-based learning that couples real-world applications and learner choices to create an individualizing learning pathway. Gamification and substantive game mechanics can be used to simulate the theme of learning and therefore support metacognition and simultaneous assessment across multiple axes.
As an archaeologist and osteoarchaeologist, while steeped in traditional techniques, I bring technological expertise at all levels of the project: from technologically-enhanced recordation strategies, chronological and spatial analyses, digital and print publication workflows, GIS, and digital reconstructions.
