The “wayside signs” were a design project created while working at The Germanna Foundation. A donor had provided funds to develop signage around the Fort Germanna Visitor Center that explored the rich cultural history of Germanna and the German colonists that immigrated to the area in the early-18th-century.
Original concepts were being built in PowerPoint, but this didn’t give the donor or developers a visual idea of how the signs would actually look. These drafts were meant to address these problems. The Germanna Foundation graphic designer took a different visual direction, but while hey did so they also integrated design elements from these prototypes into the subsequent design.
Format: Static sign
Software: InDesign, Photoshop
